About the client

Cardano is a public blockchain platform founded in 2015 by Ethereum co-founder, Charles Hoskinson. It is the largest cryptocurrency to use a proof-of-stake blockchain, which is seen as a greener alternative to proof-of-work protocols.

Opportunity

Today, Cardano is a major cryptocurrency player. In May 2017, however, Cardano was not one of the largest cryptocurrencies in the world. They were on the cusp of an initial launch of ADA, their currency. John O’Connor, currently the director of African Operations, reached out to us for help. He needed a marketing and community website for English and Japanese audiences. Here’s the rub…. He needed it designed and built in 3 weeks.

Solution

The goals of the new website were clear: Help users find information, find resources, and promote the community around ADA. The team selected WordPress for its speed-to-market and ability to quickly adapt to internationalization from the start. With the help of many designers, developers and interaction artists the website was launched on-time and was used to help drive initial awareness for Cardano.

This website was used for years following its initial deployment and helped Cardano become one of the top five cryptocurrencies in the world with a market capitalization of over $80B.
